Fishing: Has been
good this past year. Grouper have been a little harder to
find. The rumor or theory is that they have headed for
deeper water and just haven’t completely returned. The
Red-Tide has passed and fishing is now as good as it gets in
our area! Backwater:
Now is the colder season and offers a wide variety of
catches. The water being cooler makes the fish a little less
aggressive, but you can catch snook, snapper, redfish,
sheepshead, trout, pompano, lady fish, jacks and Spanish
mackerel. Late March and April water begins to warm and the
fishing will pick up right in to the prime months of May and
June. Offshore:
Most catches include snapper, grouper, maybe some mackerel.
And, as we move closer to the spring we will see the fish
migration from the south
of King mackerel, cobia, permit, shark, tarpon (also in the
backwaters) and amberjack. |
